The Guesthouse is located in Portland's historic Alphabet District also known as Nob Hill. Our neighborhood is the city's most charming and vibrant. We are within walking distance or a short transit ride Downtown, the Pearl District, Powell's Books and most of Portland's major cultural institutions.
One can meander through the neighborhood streets lined with Victorian homes, NW 23rd and 21st Avenues lined with shops and restaurants or walk up to Washington Park and the amazing Japanese Gardens. From there, it is possible to access over 40 miles of hiking trails.
We are blocks to some of the cities best restaurants and a quarter block to Trader Joes'.
We are five blocks to the streetcar, six blocks to the light-rail with direct access to Portland International Airport, and one block to several major bus lines. In addition, we are a 7-minute bus ride to Union Station (Amtrak) and the Greyhound station (located next to Union Station). If you are driving, we are 7 blocks to the nearest freeway.
Parking
All parking in the neighborhood is metered running from 9am to 7pm. We have a limited number of parking permits allowing guests to park without paying at the meter or moving car - the exception is NW 21st and NW 23rd where parking permits are not allowed. If you plan to drive and park on the street - you must reserve the parking permit in advance. We will need your plate number for a reservation.These permits are $10 per day.
