location The Guesthouse is located in Portland's historic Alphabet District also know as Nob Hill. Our neighborhood is the city's most charming and vibrant. We are within walking distance or a short transit ride, of Downtown, the Pearl District, Powell's Books and all Portland's major cultural institutions. One can meander through the neighborhood streets lined with victorian homes, NW 23rd and 21st Avenues lined with shops and restaurants or walk up to Washington Park and the amazing Japanese Gardens. From there, it is possible to access over 40 miles of hiking trails. We are blocks to some of the cities best restaurants and a quarter block to Trader Joes. We are five blocks to the streetcar, six blocks to the lightrail with direct access to Portland International Airport, and one block to several major bus lines. In addition, we are a 7-minute bus ride to Union Station (Amtrak) and the Greyhound station (located next to Union Station). If you are driving, we are 7 blocks to the nearest freeway. We do not provide parking, however we do provide free parking passes for residential street parking. The Guesthouse has a relationship with zipcar, a national car share service.
